About me

I have two decades experience in journalism, and I’ve won awards for reporting, column writing and blogging. I’m experienced covering nutrition, all levels of education, the Catholic Church, parenting, and lifestyle issues. I’m known for being able to get sources to talk to me, and I’ve been lucky enough to interview the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Shaquille O’Neal and lots of people in between. In my Second Act, I became a nationally recognized university academic advisor and career coach. Writing a novel taught me to love the beauty and clarity provided by the Oxford comma, but I know when to dismiss it in favor of AP style.
